Blogiversary: Season 1 Finale

14th January, 2016.
I should have posted this yesterday as that date marked one year since my first post. Blame it on writer's block...plus I didn't want to seem so cliche.
A day after won't hurt now, would it?

Worry not. I won't 'shed' sentiments like I just won an award or something. This is going to be as brief as brief can be. So...

Yep. This fits. Well, not 'always'...

There you have it.
That's all folks! (until I hit it big like Linda Ikeji...)

CheerZ!!!

Empire

Most of you would agree with me that the preferred birthday gift in this current economy is cash.
A friend of mine once said 'I no want designer. I no want Ferrari. Just open a Swiss account in my name. Dassall.'
I can't say I didn't totally agree with her on that one.

Cash does make the world go round. Admit it.
Sure money is the root of all evil, but the same Bible also says it's the answer to all things.
It all depends on how you balance the equation...

Nope. This post isn't to yammer on cash flow and business. So, moving on...

The Uzowulus.
Not to brag but my surname has gotten so much attention in the past years till date and it's not just because of the 'intensity' of the intonations of its pronunciation. I would say its mainly cause of the aura with which it carries.
And for that, I duff my hat to the big sis for pretty much starting this 'popularity-legacy'.
Mum did as well, but in her maiden-name. But she does still earn major points too.

So the mother's birthday falls towards the end of January and as is our custom, we get her something as a family.
I used to have to budget for birthday presents and treats on specific months of the year, 5 months to be precise- January (mum), February (dad- RIP), June (the 'bigger' bro), August (the big sis and I) and December (the big bro).
After each month, I could take in a breath of fresh air. Done and dusted. NEXT!

But then it seems I won't get a chance to breathe every month in a couple of years *gulp*

The empire keeps expanding. And I doubt my sis would be done anytime soon...even before I join the trail. Twins, she said...

But I'm loving every part of it, the journey of moving from one phase of our lives to the next.
Sometimes, if not all the time, I wish he was still alive to be an integral part of this experience.
He would have made a pretty fine grandpa *smiles*

Omo Naija

Lol.
I keep giggling anytime I think of the conversation I just had with a longtime friend of mine. 16 years of friendship to be precise.

We were BFFs and school sisters in secondary school. Both whiz kids always drawing wins together at the top of the class. That was till she left for the States in JSS 2 sometime in 2002 I believe. (Junior Secondary School 2 better known as JSS 2 is Grade 8)
Brainy. My classmates and I used to call her that. The whole school infact.

Then came December 2015 and she's been around for the holidays (Yaaaaay!) and of course we HAVE to meet up before she heads back.
In my terms, a hangout cannot 'not' involve food in some way. So I suggested pizzas, something 'Americana-ish'. But gurl was having none of that! Loool.

Haha! Once a Nigerian, Always a Nigerian

It was no coincidence that we had this chat say, five minutes after I had a conversation about the food at Terra Kulture with a friend and two minutes before a colleague of mine just got back from lunch of which he ordered from there as well. He even swore by the awesomeness of their fried plantains.

"Hmm...", I thought, "This must be a sign"

Well, I have never been, so this sorted my decision as to where we would have brunch over the weekend.

Going to see my padi  after donkey years! Who is to say I am not excited???
Well, food does make me giddy too...
